To those who love our land

6 Dec

After a long silence, due to the seismic events of 26th and 30th October to us it seems the right moment to do the point of the situation.
First, some numbers to give an accurate idea of what happened.
Premised that, fortunately, there were no victims, we must emphasize that this earthquake has put a strain on the resistance and the economy of the Province of Macerata, particularly the internal part.
Tolentino, San Severino Marche, San Ginesio, Caldarola and many other municipalities have had serious damage to the housing heritage and to the artistic one.
More than 20,000 people homeless and about 80% of the wealth of churches and monuments unfit for use only in the Marche Region.
The perspective is not the best.
Specifically, even the municipality of Belforte del Chienti, where is the headquarters of Terra dell’Arte and where is the house of the MIDAC Museum, has paid his tribute although in less dramatic way.

The former church of San Sebastian, home of MIDAC Museum, and Palazzo Bonfranceschi, cultural center dedicated to the reception of tourists and to the artistic residences are fit for use at 100%.
The focus of terra dell’Arte, as an active presence in the territory, is now directed to ensure that what happened does not has to paralyzing the artistic and cultural activities that have distinguished it in the past decade.
Our self-sustaining system, which was created in order to develop cultural and artistic activities by covering the costs through the development of quality tourism, was put a strain.
Our call therefore has two objectives:
– to let everyone know that we are able to work and operative, albeit with the difficulties described;
– ask to everybody, first to those who have always supported us, to not to leave us alone in this moment.
In concrete terms we are about to launch a membership campaign for the year 2017, which will be the fifteenth year of activity for our association, and a fundraising campaign to be able to bear the costs at this time and in the near future.
It is the first time that we act in this direction after having always financed with our own resources all our initiatives and projects.
The Museum and the Bonfranceschi Palace are open to visitors on request at weekends. Just a phone call or an email to the numbers and addresses indicated on the end of this release.
Follow us on our sites, blogs and social pages to actively participate in our activities.
A fraternal hug to all those who have expressed their solidarity to us and an even stronger hug to all of our fellow citizens who right now are struggling for their basic needs.
